Many people in the furniture industry act as though piracy is a normal part of business. It is not. Stealing furniture designs, trademarks and copyrights is unethical, illegal and wrong. Designers, architects and other creators need strong intellectual property laws to protect their own earnings, which is why genuine designers don't buy fakes.
Congress is currently considering legislation to extend copyright protection for fashion designer's work via the Design Piracy Prohibition Act. Please contact Senator Chuck Schumer's office at 212-486-4430, and let him know that furniture designers deserve protection too.
